- » Bachelors of Arts in Anthropology. This general anthropology degree can be shaped to focus on evolutionary approaches to human variability using the framework of the Anthropology BA with electives and additional classwork offered by the Archaeology faculty. - » Masters of Arts in Anthropology. CSULB offers an MA in Anthropology with an emphasis on archaeology. This 2-year program provides students strong training in evolutionary appraoches to the study of the archaeological record with an emphasis on theory and methods. Student receive hands-on training in laboratory and field technology and are introduced to the challenges of asking evolutionary questions about archaeological materials. California State University Long Beach is large urban campus locate in southern California. The relatively small group of archaeology faculty have developed a comprehensive program in evolutionary appraoches to the study of the archaeological record. The campus offers a BA and Masters program in Anthropology with specialization in evolution and archaeology. CSULB also boasts a strong complement of instrumentation for conducting compositional analyses, luminescence dates, and near surface remote sensing.
